Survived my 1st day in brisbane without my parents. Actually wasn't much of a survivor after all, cuz i was with my housemates the whole day. Hee..
Woke up tis morning and realised that actually my bed is pretty warm and that my toes actually isn't cold at all! Hee.. Was suppose to meet HuiHui in city for some shopping at 10, but as usual, i'm late and lucky i was slacking ard, cuz she had practical til 12. Can't imagine waiting for her for 2 hrs in the city. I'll go mad shopping. Anyway, rani & adele decided to come down too, since nothing to do at home. So the 3 of us took a bus to Toowong to check out K-Mart first. My 1st time taking a bus! My gosh, u won't believe the bus prices here, for an unlimited bus trips between 2 zones in a day, it cost AUD$2.50 for student consession, which is half price already! Expensive really, when the converstion to SGD kicks in.
Reached Toowong Village, which is 4 stops away, headed to K-mart and i'm just happy at their clothes section. Its HUGE! End of buying 1 pair of jeans, 1 short skirt & 1 basic top, all for AUD$42. Then headed down to city to meet HuiHui for lunch. The 4 of us just sat at myer center foodcourt and chatted for more than an hour over lunch! So much to talk n laugh about. Hee.. Plus we bought ice-cream, walk n talk n eat too. Such a kick to eat ice-cream in this weather. Hee.. I'm growing fatter. Oh No! Seperated frm Adele n Rani then and me Hui n serene headed to make our 18+ card at queensland transport authority.
Let me explain, in aus, they don't have an identity card for everyone. Once u turn 18, u have to apply for this 18+ card which proves that u are 18 n above to enter clubs. Weird huh? n its cost $22 to get the card! Still rem the other day, news was reporting that aus PM wanted to implement that each aus to have an identity card and some ppl were protesting saying that its an invasion of privacy. Then what makes it of us singaporeans? Is our privacy invaded? Huh? I don't get it. To me, i feel that its just an identity card, nothing to be invaded. Still don't get it.
Anyway, the card is damm weird, printed on the spot and i don't like my picture, cuz my hair is a mess!! The offical name of card is called a 'Proof of Age Card'. Sounds weird rite? Haa..
When thats done, we went shopping at Queen Street Mall, which is the main shopping area. Been there so often, that now i can rem which shops are located where. Hee.. Went to this store called Buss. Now, this shop is fantastic, i think if chris were in bris, she wld be pratically living there. Reason cuz nothing in the store is above AUD$15 each. All pants/jeans/skirts go for AUD$10 each, all tops are AUD$7 each and jackets are like AUD$15 each, regardless of what pattern. Best is, their style isn't out of date and the shop is a combination of a few brands together there, like ValleyGirl & Temt. N u can get anything from formal jackets/pants to jeans and sleep slacks there. Its always packed full of ppl. N their style is quite current. Hee.. i bought 2 formal pants frm there today, lowcut rise too and good fit. Great rite? I'm happy of my purchase. N it only cost AUD$20 for both. hee..
Hui then went for her lessons in QUT, i then shopped ard alone. Went to target and saw this black thick windbreaker. Nice, and it cost only AUD$25. Grab it sia, hee.. then walked ard further and went into Crazy Discounts and bought a Strawberry Shortcake alarm clock for $4. as well as a cut noticeboard. Hee..
Came home to a nice dinner made by my house cook! aka Adele. She used to be home econs teacher back in sg before coming here.. so ya, i'm happy! for the 1st time, the 4 of us sat down and had dinner together. Which is.. Pork Chops and Vege Stew with rice. Nice nice! n full! Adele is a great cook sia. I'm gonna grow much fatter when i get back. N before i still tot i will loss all my hair from all the msg that i'll be taking. No longer! hee... *gloating too soon*.. Opps.
Time for me to unpack all my stuff. Need to sleep liao.. got another shopping trip tmr. Hee.. Oh n lastly, did i mention that i got a pair of Gola Shoes for AUD$30 at Harbour Town factory outlet last tues? hee... Jealous? I'm loving Harbour Town near gold coast, cuz it has [roxy,billabong,ripcurl,mambo,gola,sportsgirl] factory outlets, all at 1 place. Gg back there in 2mths time. Hee.
